I am honored to offer this deeply personal, one-of-a-kind experience: a private or small-group Haida weaving class where we create a traditional basket together while fully immersing ourselves in the living heart of Haida culture.
This is not an ordinary workshop. It is an intimate gathering—limited to just a few dedicated participants (or available as a private session for individuals or families)—where the ancient techniques of cedar bark and spruce root weaving come alive under my direct guidance. As a Northwest Coast Haida weaver with over twenty years of practice, trained by master weavers and committed to preserving our ancestral ways, I will walk with you step by step. Your hands will learn the precise twists, turns, and prayers that shape each fiber, just as they have been passed down through generations. By the end of our time together, you will take home a finished basket made with your own hands—and with mine beside you the entire way.
But the true gift of this class goes far beyond the weave. In the spirit of our ancestors, we will also share:
This experience is held with deep respect for Haida protocols and cultural heritage. It is designed to be transformative: a rare chance to not only learn a skill, but to feel the living culture flow through you in a way that books or museums cannot provide. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced weaver, this gathering is for those who seek authenticity, connection, and the quiet power of our traditions.
